Endpoint Telemetry Ecosystem
Endpoint detection and response coverage — the single most-deployed security agent in most enterprises. Categories that need endpoint signal (XDR, identity threat detection, exposure, posture) increasingly source data from here.
"You make our EDR/XDR more useful." Endpoint-attached vendors are positioning as the layer that takes endpoint telemetry and produces something the buyer can't get from the EDR vendor alone.
Endpoint platforms have the densest install base in security; attaching means access to telemetry the enterprise has already chosen to standardise on. The platform vendor controls the data pipeline economics — assume they will move toward charging for telemetry access at some point.
Marketplace + technical integration certification + co-detection content + co-sell into the platform vendor's installed base. The serious endpoint platforms have formal alliance programs with co-marketing budgets.
Endpoint platforms expand into adjacent detection categories aggressively (CrowdStrike Falcon Identity, SentinelOne Singularity Identity, Microsoft Defender XDR). Build something the platform can't replicate by adding modules: specialty, regulated workloads, deep customisation, or services-led delivery.
Attaching to one endpoint platform only. The enterprise reality is multi-EDR; vendors locked to one platform serve only that platform's installed base.
